A bobbed tail is the breed standard. some aussies are even born with naturally bobbed tails!

Australian shepherds have a working history. tail docking is done to prevent injury to working dogs and for hygiene purposes. we believe this is a necessity for their safety around equipment and livestock. 

tails are docked within the first 3 days of birth by our trusted vet.

ultimately, this is a decision we allow you to make for your dog. if you do not want an Aussie with a bobbed tail, we require that information ahead of time with a full non-refundable deposit. this would place you in line for a puppy when they arrive and will keep your puppy from having the procedure.
